Pekao-BPH to serve as UniCredito?s CEE arm, paper says

New Polish bank created as a result of the merger betweeen Pekao and Bank BPH, Polish subsidiaries of UniCredito and HVB Group may turn into Italian company?s main banking arm in Central and Eastern Europe, incluidng Ukraine and the Baltic states, Financial Times Deutschland said this week. The unit would run UniCredito?s operations in CEE region under direct management from Milan, the paper said.

Trimproof may buy stake in Sanwil

Irish upholstery and PVC maker Trimproof may buy a stake in Poland?s Sanwil, publicly traded plastics maker said yesterday. It said in a letter it may purchase up to 25 percent stake in its Polish contractor, securing further access and cooperation of its supplier.

Shares of Sanwil rose 25.8 percent to close at 0.73 zloty, a seven-year high on the news.
