Pątnów work to resume after financing delays

Four publicly traded companies working as contractors at Pątnów II power block are waiting for the resumption of the multi-million dollar project. Rafako, Remak, Elektrobudowa and Energomontaż-Północ power plant construction firms will receive between 27 and 100 million zloty each for their services at Pątnów once its owner, ZE PAK power plant secures 200-million euro loan to finish the project. Sources close to the situation say revised project schedule is expected within days. Canada?s SNC Lavalin recently took over as general contractor at Pątnów II from a subsidiary of Elektrim power and telecoms group.

Poland to revise long-term energy contracts

Polish government is working on a new plan to terminate long-term energy contracts with local power plants after EU complaints of illegal public subsidies. Polish authorities originally promised regional power producers about 15 billion zloty ($3.9 billion) for the early termination of long term contracts.

Koma wins outsourcing contract with Netia

Poland?s second largest local phone company Netia SA has awarded an information technology outsourcing contract to Prokom Software subsidiary Koma SA, extending a previous two-year relationship. Koma will hire Netia?s IT staff responsible for the maintenance of its computer system. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
