Polimex may buy Energomontaż-Południe

Polimex Mostostal-Siedlce, Poland?s second largest construction group by sales and by market value is talking about possible acquisition of power plant builder Energomontaż-Południe, market sources told PARKIET recently. Energomontaż CEO Jerzy Wcisło refused to either confirm or deny these rumors, adding cryptically that ?Polimex is not the only option?. Polimex wouldn?t comment on the news.

Sources say Polimex may buy 800 000 new shares of Katowice, Silesia-based Energomontaż giving it 42 percent stake in the company.

SEC raking in cash

Polish Securities and Exchanges Commission has raised enough cash from administrative fees paid by issuers and by local exchanges to fund its operations through December in the five months to May, market regulator said in a press release yesterday. Also known by its Polish name KPWiG, the SEC said it collected fees totaling 22.6 million zloty, which covers this year?s expense budget. The Commission said it would stop collecting fees from the Warsaw bourse, OTC market operator MTS-CeTO and KDPW clearing house for the balance of 2005.

Spray to raise money for expansion

Tiny cable TV operator Spray SA plans to raise at least 8 million zloty selling over a million shares in an IPO early next month, raising money for two small acquisitions and the build-out of LDMS data transmission network. Founded by former UPC Polska and Aster City executives, Spray has just 5600 subscribers in various parts of northern Warsaw. It plans to triple its earnings to PLN 1.2 million on 8.5 million zloty in sales this year.

Comp sells encryption equipment

IT security company Comp SA said it has signed a 13 million zloty contract to sell encryption devices to Comarch SA, a publicly traded software house from southern Poland. Comp says it now has a backlog of new orders representing over half of this year?s sales target of 95 million zloty.
