Nowy Dzień circulation figures

Publishing group Agora said copy sales of its second-largest daily ?Nowy Dzień? averaged 212 000 over the first month since it was published in mid-November. The company said initially it plans to reach average daily sales of at least 250 000 for its new tabloid.

Polish CPI fell to record low

in November

Poland?s Consumer Price Index fell to just 1 percent last month, Main Office of Statistics reported yesterday. That?s the lowest inflation rate in over two years.

Analysts expected CPI of at least 1.3 percent.

Financial services group Getin Holding said it would use the banking license of Wschodni Bank Cukrownictwa, a small regional bank it bought from other lenders who saved it from bankruptcy several years ago, to build a private banking unit. Separately Getin Holding said its main operating unit, Getin Bank, would earn at least 81 million zloty ($25 million) this year.

Russians still in play

for Mozheiki refinery

Russian oil giants Lukoil and TNK-BP may qualify for another round of negotiations to buy Lithuania?s Mozheiki refinery if they raise their bids, Economy Minister Kestutis Dauksys said. Sources say each has offered around 600-700 million dollars for the 53.7 percent stake in Lithuania?s main oil refinery.

Prokom inks another

deal with PZU

Poland?s biggest computer company, Ryszard Krauze?s Prokom Software said it was awarded a major contract to manage the main IT system of PZU insurance group. The deal is worth 24 million zloty over a period of eight months, Prokom said. The entire contract runs until October 2008.
