Foreign investors gained higher influence,

say industry experts

Western European and American investments funds have gained higher influence on Polish stocks and bonds valuations recently, said analysts and portfolio managers representing Polish securities industry, who took part in a panel discussion organized by PARKIET. The experts also concluded that Poland is still considered an emerging market rather than a mature one, although many foreign investors have started adding Polish shares to their portfolios only after the country's EU accession.

Energomontaż to post extra gains on

asset sale

Steel pipe manufacturer Energomontaż-Północ will earn as much as 10 million zloty, or double last year?s profits on the sale of two Warsaw properties, vice-CEO Marek Parkot told PARKIET this week. Several weeks ago Energomontaż said it has agreed to sell an office building in the Polish capital, plus another property for a total of 25.1 million zloty. At the time, publicly traded Energomontaż wouldn?t say how much it expects to gain on the sale of non-core assets.

DM Penetrator to start investment bank with Trigon group

Dom Maklerski Penetrator equity brokerage says it will start Poland?s first independent investment bank together with Trigon investment group. ?The process is already well under way. We want to build a pan-European company, that?s why we need a few more months to work out all the details?, Penetrator chief executive Artur Olender says.

Trigon already owns a third of DM Penetrator, which handled big two privatization IPOs recently, selling state-owned WSiP textbook publisher and Polmos Białystok vodka distiller.

?We are planning to sell several other offerings in the near future?, Olender says.

DM Penetrator, which has more than 116 000 brokerage accounts, two thirds of them inactive, broke even for the first time in years in 2004. The company has cut operating expenses by 70 percent, Olender said.
