| ÈEZ continues to negotiate intensively with bidders in its tender to complete Units 3 and 4. The negotiations started in early April 2013; however, numerous issues remain open. It is necessary to find an agreement on such a wording of contracts and all of the related documents so that the contract – the biggest ever awarded in the Czech Republic – covers all risks and is acceptable for the investor. No more details may be disclosed in view of the ongoing tender procedure. Due to the scope of the documentation discussed, the number of changes to be incorporated therein, and the complexity and interdependencies of the related issues, ÈEZ foresees that, apart from the negotiations scheduled for late July, detailed negotiations will continue in September and October 2013. “The overall duration of our negotiations with the bidders will depend on how fast the standpoints of the bidders will come close to ÈEZ’ requirements," says Ladislav Køí¾, ÈEZ Spokesman, when describing the next steps in the negotiation phase. In order for ÈEZ to conclude the negotiations and to make a final decision on the investment, it will be crucial whether the negotiated conditions and the overall framework represented by the National Energy Strategy and the related legislation of the Czech Republic will guarantee a return on the investment in building the two new power plant units. | ||||||||||||
