PRESS RELEASE STATEMENT UNICREDIT With reference to the recent decision of Fondazione Cariverona not to proceed with the subscription of CASHES, UniCredit informs that Mediobanca has fully confirmed the commitments taken in relation to the capital increase of up to €3.0 billion approved by the shareholders’ meeting of UniCredit held on 14 November 2008. Mediobanca informed UniCredit that it has received commitments by institutional investors to replace the commitment to subscribe CASHES originally taken by Fondazione Cariverona.
